FPA100: DPIM PART 1

Week 1 (Online class)

24 March 2023

Assalamualaikum to all of my readers, i hope all of you are in a good healthy and being excited to read my blog about the journey of me in Diploma Planting Industry Management in UiTM Jasin . Since it was my first time doing this blog. 

Activities

Lets get started with week 1. On the first day of classes FPA100,im using my own Smartphone for joining the classes. We are having online classes via GoogleMeet that has been conduct by our lecturer for this subject, Which is Ts Muhammad Zahid bin Muhammad. He will help us through this semester by giving us the knowledge and also some guidelines for this subject. In this online class, Sir Zahid are giving us an introduction about this subject. He also giving an explanation about our lesson plan.

                         

                                  

                                                         

Challenges

While having this online classes,i've facing a few challenges such as having bad internet connection and also the temperature of my smartphone are getting higher, Luckily I able to join this online class untill the end of the classes.

Coasting

For this week,there's doesn't had any amount that has been used 

Reflection

From this online classes,i've gain a new knowledge about this course and know about the lesson plan that i might facing through this semester. 

WEEK 2 (Briefing&land planning)

Activities

On this day,it was our first day having a physical classes at our farm that we called as a "Fieldwork".It has been started with some briefing about this course from the Coordinator of Diploma in Planting Industry which is Dr Nur Qursyna Binti Boll Kassim.After that,we has been seperate by class to know our P.E (Planters Executive) and doing some ice breaking with them and giving some explaination about the land planning for our fieldwork. P.E for my class, which is 1D was Cik Jasmin and Cik Nik both of them were very kind and pretty. They will guide us doing the fieldwork at the farm. We also has been introduce about a few tools that we will use for this fieldwork .

                                                                                                   

                                   

                                                                                                      

         

Challenges

For me its quite challenging as a introvert person because im not good in communication, so that i could not express my opinion with the others openly. Besides, the weather at the farm was very hot that might make me feel hardly to doing the fieldwork soon.

Coasting

Same like the last week, we didn't spent any amount of our money for this week.

Reflections

From this physical fieldwork classes i've learned a few thing about the farm from our P.E and also i've learn about the 4 principle of farm which is unity, punctual, respect and discipline and  i've been thinking to change myself for being an extrovert person so that I could express what I want and being easy to get along with the others.

WEEK 3 (Land and Drainage Clearing)

3 April - 7 April 2023

Activities

Today is the day where our fieldwork has been started. All of the part 1 has been gather at a Agrotech whish is the place of gathering for morning rowcall . Before started the rowcall, were doing some exercise as a warm up and star jump together at the "Farm workshop"after that we're moving to the rowcall places and the rowcall has been began with national anthem song, wawasan setia warga UiTM and also the planters song. After finish the rowcall, all of the part 1 has been moving to plot part 1 or that has been called as a "sharefarm" for doing the land and drainage clearing by using the equipments such as hoe, machete, wheelborrow and the others. The process of the land clearing has been started after the P.E has been devide the task by class to know their plot.This clearing has been proceed about 3-4 days to makesure it cleans from the unwanted plants . The weed need to remove to avoid the nutrient from the plant has been absorb from the weed.

     

            

                                                                               

     

After 3-4 days of clearing,the P.E has been directed us for doing the measurements of the land by using the measurement tape and rope for the next task which is loose soil process on the others week.

Challenges                                                                                                                                     

The challenges for this week is to keep tolerate with the others as a team work and facing the physical and mental issues such as working under the hot whether and did not had an enough rest .

For this week, the cost that we used is RM2x100=RM200 for the glove,RM13x2=RM26 for raffia rope, RM25x4=100 for the field measure tape, RM9x100=RM900 for the straw hat, RM33x100=RM3300 for the hoe and the last one is RM15x100=RM1500 for the boots. 

Reflaction                                                                                                              

From this week,i've learning how to work together with the others as a one team and also make me felt proud of myself because i manage to finish the clearing part which is one from the hardest part from  this fieldwork. I hope for the next task that will coming soon, i will manage to finish it with the full of energy.
