WEEK 8 (WEEDING MANAGEMENT, FERTILIZER AND PREPARATION FOR STAKE)

ACTIVITIES

After 2 weeks of doing the transplanting, we can see that the weed are starting growth on our bed plant. There had 3 type of weed type such as Grasses, Sedge, Broadleaf. What can I  see on my bed plant, there had a Grasses and Sedge. To prevent it from growth fully on my bed I've starting to remove it by using my hand. If I did not remove the weed, it might be affected on my plants because they will absorb the nutrient from the soil and also might competition for water and light. After than that, we're doing the stake preparation for the long bean by using the tree branch that we get from the tree around us .The height of the stake is about 2meters. It may support the plant when it growing soon.

Last but not least, we starting to apply the NPK GREEN 15:15:15 on our bed. The content of the NPK green is nitrogen, phosphorus and kalium. The function of this fertilizer is to helping plant to growth leaves ,helping to produce healthy flower, buds, root and, fruits. We are using about 3 pinch and we mix it with water to make it as a solution and we pour it on our planting bed. We put it carefully on the soil to make sure the fertilizer not touch our plant because the condition of the fertilizer are hot and it has been made from chemicals it might make our plant trunk.

CHALLENGES

 On this week there doesn't had any big challenges for us . It just took a bit energy for searching the stack at the tree around us and digging the soil for make the stack stand strongly.

COASTING

In this week, we spend RM23 for 5KG of the NPK GREEN and RM 135.20 for 8 pcs machete.

REFLECTION

What I've learn from this week is how to identify the types of weed and know how to manage the weed from the planting bed. Beside I also learn how to make the stack for our plant and know the function of the stack. I'm very enjoyed on this week because we are doing our work together and it make me feel not to tired but happy to communicate with them. Can't wait to doing for the next activities on the next week.
