WEEK 7 ( MULCHING AND COSTING )

9 May - 12 May 2023

In this week after doing the transplant, we starting with briefing from our lecturer about how to doing the mulching and we also started doing the mulching for our plant since the plant are still tiny. We doing the mulching by using the palm branch. At first we only use two pcs of palm branch for covered the plant. After 3-4 days, we changed it to the whole palm branch since the plant are slowly growth. The function of the mulching is to prevent the direct sun, avoid pest and weed and also to avoid the soil being too dry. There had two type of mulching. The first one is the nature type that using palm branch and the other type is the original type that using silvershine plastic.We also watering our plant everyday in twice to make sure the plant get an enough water so it can growth easily. For our class, we didn't use any fertilizer for this time since we are run out of the time. We will put it soon when our plant are ready. Next, we also doing the costing plan to see the total that we used since the first week until this week.

  

       

       


Challenge

For this week, there only had a one challenges that we need to face which is, some of our plants are dead because of the weather.

                          

Costing
For this week, we using RM135.20 for 8 unit of machete and RM60 for 8 unit of watering can 12L.

                              

There's are the total the we used since week 1- week 7 for the whole batch.

Reflection

From this week, what I've learn is how to doing the mulching with the right way that has been teach from our lecturer and know the function of the mulching. Besides, I also know about the total the we used, it might be quite pricey because we are having the lost cost since our seeds are dead. I hope in another week and the rest, we can reduce a little amount of the cost so that we can get the worth profit when we are doing the marketing soon.
